The unending pursuit of Christ

A vibrant relationship with Christ is the foundation of a true education. The Christian life is more than a Bible class. We believe that everything in life begins with God and our relationship with Him.
Every faculty and staff member have a personal relationship with Christ. It is from our own walk with God that we seek to win and disciple our students to become faithful and joyful followers of Jesus Christ.
In addition to the programs and classes available, spiritual growth at LBCS involves the classroom, the playing field, and the hallways. The Christian life is the unending pursuit of Jesus Christ. He alone gives everything else in life its true purpose.

At LBCS, spiritual growth extends beyond the classroom into every aspect of campus life. Through chapel services, retreats, and conferences, we provide intentional opportunities for students to deepen their relationship with Christ and grow in biblical understanding.

Education = Influence

Education is about far more than academics alone. Every classroom is a place of influence, which leads us to ask an important question: “Who is influencing your child?” From the Preschool to the Upper School, our teachers are more than instructors — they are godly role models who seek to encourage, guide, and invest in their students' hearts and lives each day. We believe the influence of caring Christian teachers can leave a lasting impact spiritually, academically, and personally for years to come.

Chapel & Bible Class

Spiritual growth is woven into the daily life of our students. Bible classes are built directly into our curriculum to help students develop a strong biblical worldview and learn how God’s truth applies to everyday life. In addition, our Upper School students attend chapel services twice a week, while our Lower School students attend once a week. These special times provide opportunities for worship, biblical teaching, spiritual encouragement, and character development as we seek to help students grow both academically and spiritually.

Spiritual Emphasis Meetings

Throughout the school year, there is an emphasis on focused spiritual growth through events such as Missions Advance, School Revival Meetings, and Prayer Advance. These dedicated times encourage students to deepen their relationship with God, strengthen their faith, and develop a greater burden for prayer, missions, and Christian living. Through powerful preaching, personal testimonies, and intentional spiritual challenges, students are encouraged to look beyond academics and grow in their walk with Christ in meaningful, practical ways.

Student Spiritual Leadership

Students should not only learn about spiritual leadership, but also have opportunities to practice it. Throughout the year, students are actively involved in chapel services through singing, instrumental music, prayer, and audio/visual ministry. We also encourage spiritual growth through student-led prayer meetings each week, giving students opportunities to lead, encourage one another, and grow in confidence in their faith. These experiences help students develop servant leadership, spiritual maturity, and a desire to use their gifts for the Lord.

Rather than regulating our Christian faith to a corner of the curriculum, we believe that every part of our students' lives – whether academics, athletics, arts, or activities must be immersed in the faith. This way, our students will leave LBCS with a sense of awe and wonder as they see God at work in every corner of their lives.
