At Lighthouse Baptist Christian School, we believe athletics are an opportunity to glorify God through discipline, teamwork, character, and effort. We encourage our student-athletes to compete with passion and excellence while remembering that Christ must always remain first in every area of life. Doing our best for the glory of God is far more important than being the best. The Scriptures instruct us that whatever we seek to do, we are to do it with all our heart and for our Lord Himself.
Our coaches seek to model Christlike character both on and off the court or field. Each member of our coaching staff is committed to helping students grow not only as athletes, but also as young men and women of integrity, leadership, and Christian testimony. Our desire is that athletics would strengthen students spiritually, mentally, physically, and relationally as they learn to honor the Lord through competition.
Middle -Upper School Basketball
Middle and Upper School Basketball at LBCS provides students with the opportunity to compete in a Christ-centered environment while developing teamwork, discipline, leadership, and character. Our boys and girls basketball teams participate in competitive athletic programs that emphasize healthy competition, Christ-like sportsmanship, and personal growth both on and off the court.
Our basketball program seeks to challenge student-athletes to pursue excellence with the right spirit and attitude. Through practices, games, tournaments, and team relationships, students learn valuable life lessons about perseverance, humility, teamwork, and honoring Christ through athletics. Our desire is not only to develop skilled athletes, but also young men and women who reflect Christian character in competition and everyday life.
LBCS CHEER!
LBCS Cheer! gives Lower School young ladies the opportunity to encourage others while developing enthusiasm, teamwork, confidence, and Christ-like character. Our cheer program is designed to create a fun and positive environment where students learn the importance of supporting and uplifting their teams, classmates, and school community.
Through LBCS Cheer!, students build friendships, school spirit, discipline, and leadership skills while learning how to represent LBCS with joy and encouragement. More than simply cheering at games, we desire to help young ladies grow in confidence, kindness, teamwork, and a spirit that reflects Christ in both attitude and action.
Middle - Upper School Volleyball
Middle and Upper School Volleyball gives young ladies the opportunity to compete in a Christ-centered environment while developing teamwork, discipline, leadership, and perseverance. Our volleyball program encourages student-athletes to pursue excellence in competition while demonstrating Christ-like character and sportsmanship on and off the court.
Through practices, games, tournaments, and team experiences, players learn valuable lessons about commitment, communication, humility, and working together toward a common goal. Our desire is to help each athlete grow not only in skill and confidence, but also in Christian character and leadership that will impact every area of life.
Upper School Soccer
Soccer at LBCS gives young men the opportunity to compete in a Christ-centered athletic environment while developing discipline, teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. Our soccer program encourages players to pursue excellence on the field while reflecting Christ-like character and sportsmanship in every aspect of competition.
Through practices, matches, tournaments, and team relationships, student-athletes learn the value of hard work, selflessness, communication, and commitment. Our goal is not only to develop skilled soccer players, but also young men who honor the Lord through their attitude, effort, and conduct both on and off the field.
Lower School Intramural Basketball
The Lower School Intramural Basketball program at Lighthouse Baptist Christian School gives younger students the opportunity to enjoy fun, healthy competition while learning the fundamentals of basketball in a positive and encouraging environment. This program is designed to help students build confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and basic athletic skills as they begin developing a love for the game.
Intramural basketball also serves as an important stepping stone into our Middle and Upper School athletics program. Through practices and games, students strengthen their basketball abilities while learning valuable lessons about effort, attitude, teamwork, and Christ-like character both on and off the court.
